    Leads a team of senior engineers in support of event platforms for the enterprise.   • Consulting Big Data Platform Engineer - March 2021 – May 2023

    I have successfully managed over 300 physical servers, utilizing HPE and Cisco UCS, to support complex big data enterprise environments running on the Cloudera stack (Hadoop, Kafka). Working closely with devops teams, I ensured platform reliability and optimized ETL performance. I also managed data pipelines, enabling continuous data processing for multiple enterprise teams. In addition, I coordinated change management events for platform maintenance and provided support to over 1000 users across the enterprise, administering RHEL systems and managing user provisioning and permissions. To ensure prompt user issue resolution, I managed support queues using Jira and ServiceNow. Finally, I led coordinated efforts with vendors to facilitate on-prem to cloud (GCP) migrations.

  • Consulting Systems Engineer - March 2018 – March 2021

    As a data center leader at HCA Enterprise Data Centers worldwide, I spearheaded the design and implementation of systems critical to supporting healthcare operations for over 500 hospitals and 10,000+ physical server systems. I worked closely with electrical and environmental engineers to establish robust monitoring and maintenance programs, ensuring 100% uptime. To facilitate operational excellence, I utilized modern reporting tools such as DCIM and ServiceNow to create and analyze environmental and system reports, identifying opportunities for improvement. Additionally, I provided leadership for initial startups and new team setups in remote data centers, mentoring junior engineers and staff on industry best practices.

  • Technical Manager - April 2015 – March 2018

    As a technical manager in central Florida, I oversaw a team of staff supporting four major facilities and 21 family practice and physician service groups. Collaborating closely with leadership, I played a key role in enabling and advancing technical support functions for all doctors and clinicians throughout the region.

  • Senior Systems Engineer - November 2011 – April 2015

    As a remote regional healthcare data center manager, I maintained operations by adhering to industry standards and qualifications. The systems I supported included HP ProLiant and Blade systems, Dell PowerEdge systems, IBM I series systems, Cisco Nexus and Catalyst systems, EMC storage systems, and IBM storage systems. Working closely with national teams, I followed industry operational standards and standardized internal processes for all enterprise data centers, ensuring consistent and efficient operations across the organization.

  • Systems Engineer - January 2005 – October 2011

    As a mission-critical healthcare data center technician, my key responsibility was to monitor and maintain all systems and environmentals for optimal production value. This involved identifying any faults or issues and promptly reporting them for repair or replacement. Working closely with data center management and engineering, I gained invaluable knowledge in data center practices and developed expertise in maintaining high-performance computing environments.
